Being a bookworm, well, in my haydays..although I still get to read books from time to time.
I just wanted to share with you two books that I have finished reading, well, both are novels so during your free time you might want to grab a copy (if still available) or go to your nearest library.
First off, The Widow's Season by Laura Brodie (2009)
When Sarah McConnell's husband of 17 years dies in a kayaking incident, she is left widowed and childless at the age of 39. But David's body is never recovered, and after three months of seeing glimpses of her husband at the grocery store and her home, Sarah wonders whether she really is a widow. On Halloween night, David shows up at her front door and offers a plausible explanation for his absence, and Sarah is, understandably, relieved yet also distraught—since she's the only person who has seen him, is he real? Or is she going crazy?
Second, Nantucket Nights by Elin Hilderbrand (2002)
A full moon, a twenty-year old friendship-and a Nantucket night no one would ever forget...For 20 years, Kayla, Antoinette, and Val have performed their own special summer ritual. Once a year, the old friends put aside their daily, separate lives to drink champagne, swap stories, and swim naked under the Nantucket stars. This time though, one of them swims out from the shore and doesn't return. After the surviving friends emerge from their grief, they realize that the repercussions of their loss go far beyond their little circle, and they begin to uncover layers of secrets, and their connections to each other, that were never revealed on the beach. What has made their friendship strong now has the power to destroy their marriages, families-and even themselves.
Notes:
I enjoyed reading both books and after reading them, I would like to say that both novels have captured a part of me from end to finish. Makes you realize a lot things in your life in a different perspective. It was a roller coaster ride as my mind kept moving forward because of the twists that both books provided me..hahaha. Yes, I do have a very imaginative mind sometimes and need I say more that the places in both books are so lovely..I even went online to check them out and maybe in the future get to see those places myself.
